FDIC SDI Financials

Free

FDIC Statistics on Depository Institutions (SDI) canonical financial series for one bank - quarterly balance sheet, income, capital, asset-quality, and efficiency metrics, newest period first.

About this dataset

FDIC SDI Financials is a Free dataset in the Banks group of the BankRegReports Data API. The response carries 32 documented fields, sourced from FDIC SDI (Statistics on Depository Institutions).

GET /api/v1/banks/{rssd_id}/fdic/financials/ - FDIC SDI financial series.

Endpoint

GET /api/v1/banks/{rssd_id}/fdic/financials/

Parameters

Name Required Description
rssd_id required Federal Reserve RSSD id. e.g. 852218

Response fields

Field Type Description
rssd_id integer, nullable RSSD ID (count)
cert integer, nullable
name string, nullable
state string, nullable
city string, nullable
bank_class string, nullable
report_date string (date), nullable Report Date (date)
total_assets number (double), nullable Total Assets (USD thousands)
total_deposits number (double), nullable Total Deposits (USD thousands)
insured_deposits number (double), nullable
uninsured_deposits number (double), nullable
total_equity number (double), nullable Total Equity (USD thousands)
total_equity_capital number (double), nullable
net_income number (double), nullable Net Income (USD thousands). Net income (loss) after tax, as reported on the Call Report income statement. The figure is the single quarter, not a year-to-date total.
net_interest_margin number (double), nullable Net Interest Margin (percent). Net interest income, annualized, as a percentage of average earning assets: the spread the bank earns between the yield on its assets and its cost of funds. The vendor (fully taxable equivalent) and computed series use different earning-asset bases, so they can differ by 10 to 15 basis points.
roa number (double), nullable Return on Assets (percent). Net income, annualized, as a percentage of average total assets. The single most-cited profitability metric. 1.0%+ is strong for national banks; community banks often run 0.8 to 1.2%.
roe number (double), nullable Return on Equity (percent)
roa_pretax number (double), nullable
efficiency_ratio number (double), nullable Efficiency Ratio (percent). Non-interest expense divided by the sum of net interest income and non-interest income. Lower is better. Below 60% is excellent; above 75% raises operational-leverage concerns.
nim_ratio number (double), nullable
earning_asset_yield number (double), nullable
cost_of_funding number (double), nullable
net_loans_leases number (double), nullable Net loans and leases (USD thousands). Net Loans & Leases: total loans and leases net of unearned income and allowance for credit losses (Schedule RC line 4b).
loan_loss_allowance_ratio number (double), nullable
noncurrent_loans_ratio number (double), nullable
net_chargeoffs_ratio number (double), nullable
other_real_estate_owned number (double), nullable
total_rbc_ratio number (double), nullable
tier1_rbc_ratio number (double), nullable
tier1_leverage_ratio number (double), nullable
cblr_indicator number (double), nullable
num_employees number (double), nullable
