Peer Analysis
PublicOne bank against one row per peer over up to 20 quarters: peer median, percentiles and rank, with each ratio's formula and filing lines.
About this dataset
Peer Analysis is a Public dataset in the Banks group of the BankRegReports Data API. It is sourced from FFIEC Call Report + UBPR (BankRegReports).
A bank against a peer set, quarter by quarter: the peer median, mean, asset-weighted mean, 25th and 75th percentile, minimum and maximum, the bank's percentile (peers below it plus half the peers tied with it, as a share of the peer count, the same rule as the other peer endpoints), the share of peers it beats given each metric's direction, and its rank. Every peer is returned as its own row with its values for every quarter. The focus quarter is the bank's own newest filed quarter, or the newest at or before `as_of`.
Peers: `peers=size` (default) takes the `n` banks nearest in total assets within 50% of the bank's; `peers=size_state` does the same inside the bank's home state; `peer_ids` (comma-separated RSSD ids, up to 100) uses your own list and overrides `peers`. Every ratio carries its formula and the Call Report or UBPR lines it comes from. Values are as served: percentages in percent, dollars in thousands. The site page /banks/<slug>-<rssd>/peer-analysis/ and the peer workbook export are built from this same calculation.

When to use it
Peer Analysis sits in the Banks group of the Data API. Reach for it when your work needs this data straight from the API: it comes back as JSON you can load into a notebook, a spreadsheet or a scheduled pipeline, with the dataset key peer_analysis naming it the same way in the REST path, the Python SDK and the OpenAPI document.
Access and authentication
This dataset is in the Public tier. Send your API token in the Authorization header as a Bearer token, using a GET request to the endpoint above. The Free plan is the first plan that includes it. Check the plan comparison for request limits, and the data update schedule for when new filings reach the API.
