8-K Material Events

Free

8-K filings broken out by item number, the SEC material-event feed.

About this dataset

8-K Material Events is a Free dataset in the SEC Data group of the BankRegReports Data API. The response carries 5 documented fields, sourced from SEC EDGAR 8-K.

8-K filings broken out by item number, the SEC material-event feed.

Filtered by `filer_rssd_id` (the SEC-filing parent BHC). A bank-level RSSD that does not file 8-Ks itself will return an empty list.

`limit` counts ITEM rows (one filing carries several items), default 100, max 500.

Endpoint

GET /api/v1/banks/{rssd_id}/sec/8k/

Parameters

Name Required Description
rssd_id required Federal Reserve RSSD id. e.g. 852218
limit optional Max item rows to return (default 100, max 500). e.g. 500

Response fields

Example response shape

A successful call returns HTTP 200 with a JSON body. Each row in data carries the fields below, shown with their documented types rather than sample values.

{

    {
      "filing_date": "string (date)",
      "accession_number": "string",

When to use it

8-K Material Events sits in the SEC Data group of the Data API. Reach for it when your work needs this data straight from the API: it comes back as JSON you can load into a notebook, a spreadsheet or a scheduled pipeline, with the dataset key sec_8k_events naming it the same way in the REST path, the Python SDK and the OpenAPI document.

Access and authentication

This dataset is in the Free tier. Send your API token in the Authorization header as a Bearer token, using a GET request to the endpoint above. The Free plan is the first plan that includes it. Check the plan comparison for request limits, and the data update schedule for when new filings reach the API.
