UBPR Ratios

Pro

Per-bank Uniform Bank Performance Report (UBPR) ratios - ~30 headline profitability, margin, efficiency, capital, asset-quality, and liquidity ratios per filed quarter (recent quarters only).

About this dataset

UBPR Ratios is a Pro dataset in the Banks group of the BankRegReports Data API. The response carries 31 documented fields, sourced from FFIEC UBPR.

Returns ~30 headline Uniform Bank Performance Report (UBPR) ratios for one bank, one row per filed quarter (recent quarters only), keyed by Federal Reserve RSSD ID. Covers profitability (ROA/ROE), net interest margin, efficiency, capital ratios, asset quality, and liquidity. Pro tier.

Endpoint

GET /api/v1/banks/{rssd_id}/ubpr/ratios/

Parameters

Name Required Description
rssd_id required Federal Reserve RSSD id. e.g. 852218

Response fields

Field Type Description
report_date string, nullable Report Date (date)
roa number (double), nullable Return on Assets (percent). Net income, annualized, as a percentage of average total assets. The single most-cited profitability metric. 1.0%+ is strong for national banks; community banks often run 0.8 to 1.2%.
roe number (double), nullable Return on Equity (percent)
net_interest_income_to_avg_assets number (double), nullable
net_interest_margin number (double), nullable Net Interest Margin (percent). Net interest income, annualized, as a percentage of average earning assets: the spread the bank earns between the yield on its assets and its cost of funds. The vendor (fully taxable equivalent) and computed series use different earning-asset bases, so they can differ by 10 to 15 basis points.
interest_income_to_avg_assets number (double), nullable
yield_on_earning_assets number (double), nullable Yield on Earning Assets (percent)
avg_interest_bearing_funds_to_avg_assets number (double), nullable
noninterest_income_to_avg_assets number (double), nullable
noninterest_expense_to_avg_assets number (double), nullable
provision_to_avg_assets number (double), nullable
efficiency_ratio number (double), nullable Efficiency Ratio (percent). Non-interest expense divided by the sum of net interest income and non-interest income. Lower is better. Below 60% is excellent; above 75% raises operational-leverage concerns.
personnel_expense_to_avg_assets number (double), nullable
retained_earnings_to_avg_equity number (double), nullable
avg_earning_assets_to_avg_assets number (double), nullable
tier1_leverage_ratio number (double), nullable
tier1_risk_based_capital_ratio number (double), nullable
total_risk_based_capital_ratio number (double), nullable
acl_to_loans_leases number (double), nullable
acl_to_net_loss_coverage number (double), nullable
net_loss_to_avg_loans_leases number (double), nullable
earnings_coverage_of_net_losses number (double), nullable
noncurrent_loans_to_acl number (double), nullable
noncurrent_loans_to_gross_loans number (double), nullable
net_loans_leases_to_total_assets number (double), nullable
net_loans_leases_to_deposits number (double), nullable
yield_on_total_loans_leases number (double), nullable
yield_on_domestic_loans number (double), nullable
cash_dividends_to_net_income number (double), nullable
