How this is measured. The US banking system figure is nonperforming loans of all banks over their total loans, so a large bank counts in proportion to its size. The serving table does not carry an average-bank NPL ratio. Both cover every US bank and savings institution that filed a call report for the quarter. A quarter appears once enough banks have filed to describe the industry; until then the newest quarter shown is the one before. A median is not published here yet.
