Definition
Includes all deposits of public funds standing to the credit of states, counties, municipalities, and local housing authorities, school, irrigation, drainage, and reclamation districts, or other instrumentalities of one or more states of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories and possessions. Also includes deposits of funds advanced to states and political subdivisions by U.S. Government Agencies and Corporations and deposits of withheld income taxes of states and political subdivisions.
