FFIEC 051 Call Report

The FFIEC 051 is the Consolidated Reports of Condition and Income for a Bank with Domestic Offices Only and Total Assets Less than $5 Billion: the version of the quarterly Call Report filed by eligible banks with domestic offices only and under $5 billion in assets. For the Q2 2026 report date, 3,282 banks filed it, 76.4% of the 4,297 call reports on file.

Who files the FFIEC 051

  • Banks with domestic offices only and less than $5 billion in total assets.
  • Not eligible: advanced approaches institutions, banks subject to Category III capital standards, and large or highly complex institutions for deposit insurance purposes.
  • An eligible bank may file the FFIEC 041 instead, and its regulator can require the FFIEC 041.

Size tests use total assets as of June 30, and a change of form takes effect with the March report of the following year. A bank files the same form for every quarter of a given year. The full rules are in Call Report instructions, explained.

How it differs from the other forms

The FFIEC 051 is the streamlined form. It leaves out Schedules RC-A, RC-D, RC-P, RC-Q, RC-S and RC-V, and instead asks a short set of questions about specialized activities, such as derivatives, servicing and securitization, and variable interest entities, on its own Schedule SU, Supplemental Information. Some items are reported less often than every quarter, and Schedule RI-C is completed only by selected banks.
