About this list

The Summary of Deposits is the FDIC's annual survey of deposits at every FDIC-insured office, as of June 30. Deposits are assigned to the state of the office that holds them, not the state where the bank is headquartered, so a bank appears in every state where it has an office. Share is a state's deposits divided by the total across the 52 listed states, DC and Puerto Rico. Change from 2025 includes deposits that moved through mergers and branch sales. The largest bank in a state is the institution with the most deposits in its offices there.
